Forum Rules — Read This First

Short version: this place runs on people helping people. Everything below exists to protect that. We kept it brief on purpose — follow the spirit and you’ll never need the letter.

1. Be useful, be decent. Help when you can, ask clearly when you can’t. Argue with the idea, not the person — no personal attacks, slurs, harassment, or pile-ons. Every veteran here was a beginner once. Act like it.

2. Search before you post. Odds are someone already fought your exact gremlin and wrote down the fix. Thirty seconds of searching saves everyone the fifth identical thread.

3. Post it in the right place, and tag it. Categories are by topic — Troubleshooting, Upgrades, Builds & Rides, and the rest. Your truck and engine are tags: trooper-bighorn, rodeo, 4jb1, diesel-swap. Put every thread in the category that fits the subject, and tag it with your model and the system or engine involved — at least one tag on every technical post. This is how someone finds your thread three years from now. (New to this? Read How to Use Isuzu Nation.)

4. Close the loop — mark it Solved. When a reply fixes your problem, mark it solved. It pulls the answer to the top and turns your bad day into the next person’s quick win. Unanswered threads are what slowly killed the old forum. We’re not doing that here.

5. Give us something to work with. “It won’t start” gets you nothing. Year, engine, transmission, what changed, what you’ve already tried, any codes — now we can actually help. Photos and code numbers beat a thousand words.

6. No spam, no drive-by selling. No affiliate links, no “check out my shop,” no reposted AI filler. Vendors and commercial offers are welcome through the right door — Group Buys & Vendor Deals, with staff approval — not scattered across the general boards.

7. Buy and sell by the Marketplace rules. Classifieds live in the Marketplace, tagged and following the posting rules there. The forum is not a party to your transaction — read the Marketplace rulebook before you list or buy.

8. Keep paywalled material off the public boards. Don’t openly post or request pirated service manuals, paywalled PDFs, or other copyrighted files out in the forums — that’s what exposes a site to legal trouble. Point people to where they can buy or legitimately download a copy. We’re not the piracy police, but the public side of the house stays clean.

9. Wrench at your own risk. Everything on this forum is peer advice from fellow enthusiasts — not professional, certified, or guaranteed instruction. Brakes, fuel, steering, putting a truck up on stands: if you’re not sure, get a pro. Your safety is your responsibility.

10. We’re independent — keep it that way. Isuzu Nation is not affiliated with Isuzu Motors, and we don’t pretend to be. Don’t post as though you speak for the manufacturer, and don’t upload official Isuzu logos or materials in any way that implies you do.

How moderation works

Flag, don’t fight. If something breaks a rule, hit the flag — staff get notified, and that’s faster and cleaner than a thread war. We lean on the lightest touch that works: a nudge before a warning, a warning before anything heavier. Stick around and be useful, and the forum automatically hands you more rope to help moderate. Staff calls aren’t debated in-thread, but our inboxes are open if you think we got one wrong.

That’s it. Now go fix something.
